Joy & Laughter

Experts agree it is possible to experience joy and sadness in the same timeframe when grieving. Allow yourself to choose and experience joy when mourning, especially as the waves of grief periodically subside. Laughter releases chemicals in the body that make us feel good and support our well-being.

We can proactively generate pleasurable feelings like being kind. Noticing, savoring, and extending pleasurable experiences like watching a sunset can help to strengthen that program in the subconscious mind making it easier to recall with future similar pleasurable experiences. Save things that make you laugh or feel good so you can reference them when you are feeling down.
